The theme of the new work “Keep it simple – Mitate” is a distinctively Japanese form of creative expression called "Mitate" by using the body to address the "Ma" (spatial-temporal moment).
I look at the ocean.
It's so vast. It goes on forever. I knew that it was vast, but I did not truly know it.
I look down from this building.
There are so many more buildings. And so many unique lives.
I knew this, but now I realize that I did not truly know it.
There are some things you only begin to see when you look at them a certain way, comparing them to something else.
Or when you condense them, or when you encode them.
And there are things that escape from those ways of seeing as well.
The things not contained in the code.
In those moments, life itself comes into view.
